State of the State Address | Video

Jessica Roose | 1/8/2013

We hear all the time how well the state is doing. Whether it`s the oil boom out west or the availability of jobs across the state. And it was a topic of discussion once again during the Governor`s State of the State address this afternoon.

But the good doesn`t come without challenges and that`s what the Governor wants the legislature to discuss during the session. Besides addressing the infrastructure and housing needs out west, he wants legislators to take a look at addressing the childcare shortage in the state, property tax reform and education.

"Our strong revenues also give us the opportunity to invest in out higher education system and to make post secondary education more affordable," Governor Jack Dalrymple said.

But he doesn`t just want to address these issues short hand. The Governor says he wants to make sure the state stays in a position like it is in now and sets itself up for the future.
