Minot Plow Operators Busy After Storm | Video

Joel Porter | 1/12/2013

After a windy night with almost zero visibility, city workers in Minot had a busy morning trying to clear off streets on Saturday. The Minot Streets Department sent out nine operators to plow the streets.

Crews were battling strong winds that would create drifts on roads where they recently passed through. Workers were out on Saturday morning clearing the city`s secondary snow routes and neighborhoods.

With no parking ban in Minot, the city is reminding residents to give the crews room while they`re working. "When there`s less traffic out there it really helps. But we`d ask the motoring public, when you see us out working, please give us room. The size of the machine behind me is quite big and heavy compared to what these cars, especially these small cars are. If we happen to tangle, they`re going to lose. So please give us room to do our jobs," equipment operator Rodney Tryhus said.

With crews working around the clock, Minot city workers say they plan to have all streets cleared sometime next week.
