Minot Police Report 31 Crashes During Storm | Video

Joel Porter | 1/12/2013

Friday night`s storm dumped nearly four inches of snow in Minot coupled with dangerous wind chills. As of Saturday morning, Minot police officers had responded to 31 vehicle crashes. Officers say most of those happened along major corridors.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has since lifted the no travel advisory for Minot.

Minot police say the accidents are proof of why motorists should heed the travel warnings. "And people can get themselves into a problem without intending to by going into an area where they thought it was probably going to be okay, but turns out it wasn`t. So if they can avoid going out when it`s like that, that`d be most desirable," Sgt. Larry Haug said.

Police say of the 31 crashes, only one involved injuries.
