FEMA Trailer Deadline | Video

Julie Leonardi | 1/14/2013

The Minot City Council has come up with a deadline for home owners who are using FEMA trailers on their property while they restore their homes. The deadline is designed to motivate homeowners to have their homes finished quicker.

You must have your trailer removed by October 1 and get a performance bond to clean the area. If you need more time, you can file for an extension. Although some members of city council disagreed with the fall deadline, the motion was passed anyway.

Alderman, Dave Lehner, said, “This is basically to put some sort of date certain on when we would like to get the FEMA trailers off of those individual properties and I`m guessing that those that aren`t prepared to move their trailer off by October 1st may never be prepared to move it off.”
