Coal Combustion Bill | Video

Jennifer Joas | 1/18/2013

Another bill was also introduced in today`s session that would make coal combustion residues acceptable for other roads. Coal combustion is already re-purposed in North Dakota for roads and concrete buildings. But, if the state does not pass a law deeming it acceptable, the EPA could say it`s hazardous waste, and North Dakota would no longer be able to use it.

"We support the idea of turning what would have been a waste product into a commercial product and adding value to it," said Shane Goettle with Montana-Dakota Utilities.

No one testified in opposition to the bill.
