Tax Extension for Farmers | Video

Nicole DesRosier | 1/28/2013

Tax Commissioner Cory Fong announced today the state will be recognizing the IRS`s extended tax deadline for farmers and ranchers. The due date has been moved to April 15 because of the late timing of changes made by Congress, which affects the IRS`s ability to accept and process the forms.

The relief is for all farmers and ranchers, not only those who must use late released forms.

"There`s a lot of them out there, farmers and ranchers, that are used to filing on March 1. That they have to realize they have until April 15 and that if they didn`t make an estimated payment on January 15, we`re not going to assess them any penalties or interest," Fong said.
