Fatal Oilfield Accident

A man is dead following an oilfield accident in McKenzie County yesterday afternoon. According to the McKenzie County Sherriff’s Department, the accident happened around 1:30 Thursday afternoon.

The man was transported to a hospital by air after the accident and went into cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead in Watford City.

The incident is under investigation. The man’s name has not been released.

Earlier, the McKenzie County Sheriff`s Office reported that the accident happened on a Patterson Rig. That was not the case. When we have more information, we`ll pass it along to you.
