School Choice Week | Video

Kristin Clouston | 2/1/2013

There are 7,000 students in North Dakota who go schools that aren`t public. Students across the nation are showing their unity by wearing yellow scarves as part of school choice week. Today the state association of non-public schools, administrators, parents and students celebrated at the capitol after the Governor signed a school choice proclamation.

"We need to find a way that economically parents can place a child in a school they wish to place them and not suffer the economic impact. That would include marginalized children into private schools if that`s the choice or also another public school, it could be an academy or a magnet type school," said Dr. Rick Kruska with Light of Christ Catholic Schools.

A majority of states take part in school choice week.
