Money for Minot Public Schools | Video

Julie Leonardi | 2/13/2013

The state legislature could be writing out a check for Minot Public Schools, if they qualify. A bill written in Grand Forks was sent to the state legislature for consideration. This bill will give $17 million to districts that see rapid enrollment. Minot Public Schools only see a three percent enrollment increase each year. But new families moving into the area may boost the numbers.

Superintendent Mark Vollmer says this grant would be good news for tax payers. “If we could qualify for grant money that would lessen the responsibility for local tax payers and we think that would be a good thing.”

Minot Public School Board will continue to keep an eye on this bill and others coming out of the legislature.
