Gerald Sentenced to 20 Years in Jail | Video

A twice convicted sex offender who was found in several people`s homes in the middle of the night while on GPS monitoring will spend the next 20 years in jail. Donald Gerald, 47, was sentenced on multiple counts of burglary, attempted burglary, and surreptitious intrusion this morning. More time hangs over his head after he`s released on probation.

Gerald had pleaded guilty to going into people`s homes and watching them, and their children, while they slept. Several victims testified in court about the emotional harm they`ve suffered in the year and a half since the crimes happened. They talked about how their children have needed to undergo counseling, and how they don`t feel safe letting their kids play outside.

Gerald apologized to the families in court.

His attorney said Gerald never intended to cause any harm to the victims, but wanted to feel like he was a part of a family.
