Aviation Art Contest | Video

Kristin Clouston | 2/15/2013

A Bismarck fifth grader has a second chance to win a national title. Last year, Scout Wheeler took second place in the National Aviation Art Contest. This year`s theme was "My Favorite Air Sport."

Her picture of hot air balloons took second place at state, and is headed to the national competition along with the first and third place winners of her division.

"In aviation, I like where you can see the world from a different view and in art you can do art any time that you want and it`s a fun activity to do," she said.

The contest is sponsored by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission and has three separate categories for students ages 6 through 17. First Lady Betsy Dalrymple congratulated all of the state winners today at the capitol.
