Surrey police officers have been receiving numerous calls that pets have been running loose around town without leashes. Police are reminding residents of a city ordinance which requires all pets to be on a leash.

If an animal does not have a leash, the owner can receive a $500 fine.

Animals are also required to have a current record of vaccinations
