In Minot, the money will be used to build 141 miles of new transmission lines which will back up current electric lines and provide reliable energy for a growing community.
“The community is expanding. Just take a look out at Minot and see all the new houses coming up, well they all need that electricity to them, so Central Power puts in the transmission line to get that electricity to your local co-op, and ultimately the consumer,” said USDA Rural Development Area Director, Lisa Dahl
Central Power says it will begin construction of the new transmission lines this spring.
