You may have seen them on the road after a big snow storm. They`re big, they`re pulled behind snow plows and they`re helping keep the roads clear. Tow Plow Trailers carry liquid de-icer and have a plow of their own. When the trailer is deployed, the plow can cover twice as much road, which can be a time saver.

"With the Tow Plow extended, you can do the whole driving lane with that one plow. Then you have your wing down, that will take your whole narrow shoulder. And the front plow on your truck, that will do your passing lane. So with this one unit, we`re doing the narrow shoulder, the passing lane and the driver`s lane," said Kent Leysring with the NDDOT.

There are one or two trailers in each district in the state.
