Bad Roads In Minot | Video

Julie Leonardi | 3/4/2013

The winter storm has made driving on Minot roads even more dangerous than some highways outside of town. Even though the plows are out, the snow keeps on piling up.

Tow companies are backed up and local police have been out patrolling all day to assist drivers that have gotten stuck in the snow drifts. Luckily there hasn’t been many injury accidents, only six fender-benders as of Monday afternoon. The Minot Police Department has assisted many drivers that couldn`t get out of their un-plowed neighborhood streets.

Tim Gates, Minot Police Officer, had to help several drivers out of snow drifts. “It’s taking neighborhood streets a little longer to get plowed today because it`s continuing to snow, they`re keeping the main roads clear and the neighborhoods are getting pushed farther and farther back on the priority list.”

A No Travel Advisory has been issued for Minot and police officers encourage those that must travel to take extra precaution when driving.
