Minot Landfill Getting Ready For Spring | Video

Julie Leonardi | 3/7/2013

Minot`s landfill takes in waste from all over town, and then some. With construction, cleaning up from the flood and more people moving in, the landfill is preparing for a busy spring. The warmer temperatures during last winter had cars lined up to dump off their post-flood debris. But because of all the snow this year, landfill workers can relax a little before they start getting ready for long lines at the check in again. Not only will people be rehabbing their houses, but all the construction from around town will keep the landfill workers busy.

Joshua Kraft, Landfill foreman, said, “We were fortunate enough to get additional equipment and man power to deal with the increased volumes, and we feel that we`re ready for it. What it`s going to bring? No one knows, but I anticipate it`s going to be quite high again.”

The big mountains of dirt at the landfill are hiding all the non-recyclable debris after the flood.
