Travel Alert for Areas in South Central and Northeast North Dakota

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a Travel Alert for areas in the south central part of the state as well as the Grand Forks area. Cities included in the Travel Alert are: Jamestown, Valley City, Edgeley, Ellendale and surrounding areas in the south central part of the state as well as Grand Forks, Drayton, Cavalier, Cooperstown and surrounding areas.

The Travel Alert has been issued because of blowing snow sticking to the roadways causing areas of scattered slush, compacted snow, and continuous ice.

A Travel Alert means that people can still travel in those areas, but should be aware of icy roads and challenging winter driving conditions. For road information, call 511 or go to www.dot.nd.gov.
