Principal Named at Legacy

The principal has been named for the new high school in Bismarck. Tom Schmidt will take over as Legacy High School`s first ever principal on July 1.

Schmidt is currently the principal at South Central High School and was formerly a teacher at Bismarck High. Eighteen people applied for the position. Schmidt was one of three people interviewed.
He will assist with school construction, program development and hiring until Legacy High opens in the fall of 2015.

A new principal for South Central will be hired.

Schmidt is a 1991 Bismarck High graduate and has degrees from University of Mary and North Dakota State University.

The school nickname will be the Sabres and the school colors will be black, white and gold.
