Main Street Minute: Nightlife Limousine, BLINK Eyewear Boutique and Scheels | Video

There`s a lot of business growth in downtown Bismarck. Some stores are outgrowing their current space and moving, others are expanding, and still more are opening.

Nightlife Limousine is moving to a new location on Main Avenue in Bismarck. Owner Rick Berge says the new location will be more visible, and will allow the business to store all 26 vehicles inside. The new store, at 1505 East Main, will also provide an expanded area for the sound and lighting, and retail aspects of the business.

"This building is 6,000 square feet. It`s worked well for us since we moved in in 2005. But the new building is 13,300 square feet. We`ve got quite a few limos, buses, store trucks and stuff so we just needed more room."

They are currently using both locations, but will officially move on April 1.

The old Nightlife building will become the new VFW Club. The club purchased the building on South 12th Street from Berge in December. They`ll begin remodeling after Nightlife moves out.

A new eyewear store, BLINK Eyewear Boutique, will be opening in downtown Bismarck this spring. Construction at 234 West Broadway started earlier this month. Owner Kelley Dockter has been an optician for more than 15 years. She will carry both sunglasses and prescription glasses.

The Scheels expansion at Kirkwood Mall is making progress. Last week, cranes lifted several 5,600 pound HVAC units onto the top of the mall. The complete expansion project is expected to be done by May.
