Shooter Training | Video

Julie Leonardi | 3/19/2013

Preparing for the unthinkable, The North Dakota Safety Council held a five hour training seminar at the Grand International to provide people with precautions to take if they do have to deal with an active shooter in their building.

The class enforced response and awareness training, using information from Homeland Security and methods from the Secret Service.

Many people who attended were from local schools, businesses, and even the Sheriff`s Department. They went over ways to increase your chance of survival if put in a situation, and how to recognize and respond properly.

Kyle Martin, North Dakota Safety Council said, “Being involved in your community and really just taking proactive measures, just so you`re aware of your surroundings incase something like this were to happen.”

The topic of guns is on everyone`s mind recently and North Dakota Safety Council believes that small communities like Minot need to be caught up on all safety procedures.
