We all know it`s tough to work out during the winter, especially for those that can`t afford a gym membership or don`t have time.

But there are ways to work out at home. The days of buying workout tapes are over, now you can easily just search videos on YouTube and do them in your living room.

You can use cans of soup for weights, and when it`s time to clean your home, do it a little more vigorously to increase your heart rate. There are a lot of quick things you can do during commercials, like move around your living room, and do sit ups with your feet placed under your couch.

Rita Tescher, with Trinity Hospital and YMCA, said it’s all about being active. “Anything that you have in your home or in your house you can use. The biggest thing is to just start moving and just keep moving. If you don`t like high impact things you can just march in place.”

If you want to get out and about, but the weather is still too cold, you can also power walk around the mall.
