Rene Thibault | 3/19/2013

About 1,600 Minot residents were left in the dark this morning. Xcel Energy says it had problems with an underground electrical cable around 8:45 this morning, which caused an outage for about an hour.

The Town and Country Shopping Center area, other businesses in the downtown area and along Burdick Expressway were affected by the outage. Repair crews were able to get the lights on again around 9:45.

Trinity Health center and its surrounding buildings were not affected by the power outage.
