High School Boys Hockey Begins Tonight | Video

Scott Westerburg | 11/20/2012

The high school boys hockey season begins tonight with four games on the schedule including Mandan visiting Hazen-Beulah. The two Capital City teams will wait until Friday for their first action. Century opens the season at Fargo North, and after two weeks of practice the team is ready for a game that counts in the standings.

"We`re just trying to get our feet under us and get in shape a little bit cause hard getting into hockey shape and just looking to go into Fargo North and West Fargo and just compete," said senior Alec Rauhauser.

"The first two weeks of practice it kind of gets long and the scrimmage was nice on Saturday to face a different color jersey. We saw some things we like. We have some youth and most of them are pretty talented, so that`s good to see, but we still have a long way to go to play hockey the way we want them to play," said coach Troy Olson.

After Friday`s game with the Spartans, Century plays at West Fargo on Saturday. The Patriots first home game isn`t until December 6.
