Bismarck was the best AAA football team in the state, and it wasn`t close. Today the Demons produced the Gatorade player of the year. Layne Johs earned the honor with the help of his teammates. He was just 10 yards shy of rushing for 2,000 this fall. Layne also scored 32 touchdowns.

Johs is a two time first team all-state running back and the AAA senior athlete of the year. He joins a recent list of winners from the west that includes Devin Coyle, Esley Thorton and Brent Qvale.

Johs is now a finalist for the National Gatorade award.
