Buccaneers Back to Winning | Video

Alexander Gorney | 12/26/2012

The Beach girls basketball team started this season with nearly as many losses as they had in their entire season last year. The Buccaneers started 0-2 with a loss coming to second ranked Napoleon and another to Linton. But the Buccaneers are back to 500 after wins against Harding County and Hazen.

The team was 24-3 last year, finishing third in state and players say they know what it takes get back to playing at the same high level as last year.

"We have to play within ourselves and play to our strengths each person their own pretty much and just play as a team and we need to keep attacking and whether it`s the outside shots or in the paint. Just keep going after it," said junior Bailey Waldal.

"Play better defense and help our bench get so they can play with us too," said junior Hailee Farstveet.

The Buccaneers received votes in this weeks Class B poll but were not ranked. They will be back on the court January 3 against Dickinson Trinity.
