First Place in Mon-Dak | Video

Bismarck State is sitting on top of the Mon-Dak men`s basketball standings but the Mystics will be tested tonight. NDSCS is in a tie for second just a half-game back.

One of the reasons the Mystics are off to such a strong start in the conference is Justin McCloud. The freshman from Bottineau is the current Mon-Dak player of the week.

"He`s a good player. He was a good player in high school and we knew he was going to be a good college player. Every game he`s just getting better and better as the season goes on you see these kids step up. He`s one that we will count on him all year and he`s going to be there every game for us and play well. It`s consistency now for him that`s coming and happy to have him is a Mystics uniform," said head coach Jason Harris.

DeWayne Liggins is one of the more explosive players in a Mystics uniform. Bismarck State is in a good position right now and DeWayne knows staying there will not be easy.
"I think we can do it. I think we`re a good enough team. I think we`ve gotten better and we`re just clicking with each other and we play off of each other, our chemistry is there so I think we`re going to be tough."

The Mystics opened the conference with 3-straight wins before dropping a close game in Devils Lake on Monday.
