Top Seed from WDA | Video

The Bismarck Civic Center and Exhibit Hall will be super-busy with the Super-A this week. St. Mary`s is the number one seed from the West after winning the region tournament on Saturday. Due to a few upsets in the East, the Saints draw Fargo Shanley in the opening round on Thursday.

"We didn`t expect that. I thought maybe one of them would lose so there is definitely going to be some good first round matchups on Thursday and they`re difficult games but you got to beat them sometime so we can`t control those things so we`re ready to go," said St. Mary`s head coach Jeo Mueller.

"I think we played pretty well defensively. We didn`t do as well as we thought we should have in the first game but the second and third game we did pretty well," said St. Mary`s guard Trent Bohan.

The Saints are 19-2, while the Deacons enter state with an 18-4 record.

The rest of the boys draw looks like this:
- Bismarck takes on EDC tourney champion West Fargo.
- Century plays the defending state champs from Red River.
- Mandan opens against Davies.

No major upsets on the girls side:
- It`s Mandan against Shanley.
- The Patriots have the `Riders.
- The West Region Tournament champion Demons face Wahpeton on opening day.

The Girls semi-finals are Friday afternoon. The boys play Friday night... All four games will be on NBC North Dakota Sports. On Saturday, it`s back to back title games on TV.
