Gas Prices Drop Across the State

Posted: Updated:

Filling up your gas tank for the 4th of July will be much different than Memorial Day weekend.

Gas prices in North Dakota have dropped to an average of $3.73 a gallon.

A month ago, they were up to $4.24 per gallon, because three refineries that provide gas for the region shut down for maintenance at the same time, without setting aside much fuel in reserve.

North Dakota is now no longer one of the top ten states for high gas prices. And analysts say the downward trend could continue.

"So the prospects of gasoline continuing even lower yet into the low 30s, like say $3.39 are possibly out there in the coming month of July," says Heartland Investor Services president Eugene Graner.

Graner says the only thing that could change that downward trend would be trouble with international imports of oil.
