Fire Causes More Than $50,000 in Damages

Posted: Updated:

A fire in Bismarck caused more than $50,000 worth of damage last night.

The Bismarck Fire Department says just before 10 p.m. they responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of St. Benedict Drive.

A neighbor reported the fire to the residents, and they left the home safely. There were no injuries.

Firefighters contained the fire to the garage and prevented it from spreading to the house.

Red Cross is providing housing assistance to the family, who will be temporarily displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but it appears to have been started by hot ashes being placed in a bag.
