Inundated Roadways

Posted: Updated:

County roads still inundated from water, and Ward County commissioners met this afternoon with Department of Emergency Services to discuss the damaged roadways.

Townships are facing problems with damaged roads after the spring melt and rain fall events. Gary Stanley from FEMA along with two representatives from the Department of Emergency Services discussed some changes to the road recovery process, and how they do their preliminary damage assessments.

"You have to show us everything, we have to look at everything, we need to come up with numbers in terms of damages and then we roll it up and include that in the PDA spread sheets that we get forwarded through FEMA and the president for approval," says Greg Wilz, Department of Emergency Services.

They say they will do their best to give the benefit of a doubt to Ward County in order to get a presidential declaration.
