Mandan Parade Preview

Posted: Updated:

The Mandan Independence Day has been an annual tradition since 1881. The region's largest parade kicks off tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. and travels west down the entire length of Main Street.

Members of the USS North Dakota Committee will act as grand marshals.

The nuclear powered submarine named after the state is scheduled to be commissioned next summer.

"We're very, very excited to have them here. There will be a float from the American Bank Center. This is going to be a very elaborate float, probably the best float we've had in the Mandan Parade," says Marlo Anderson, Mandan Independence Day committee.

Free busing starts at 7 a.m.
