Families Vacation in Medora

Posted: Updated:

Just off of Interstate 94, Medora lies in the badlands of North Dakota and for decades has been a favorite vacation spot for families.

"When I was a little girl, my parents brought us to Medora, and I just have memories of that and of the boardwalk," says Stacie Hull.

With the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in its backyard,  attractions like this can't be found anywhere else.

"We love Medora. We've been coming here, I believe, this is our tenth year in a row. And we love it. We love the musical, the pitchfork fondue, the town, to be able to walk around the gift shops, the whole atmosphere. We love it here," says Monica Musich.

With gas prices the way they are, a lot of people are deciding to stay close to home.

Medora maintains its tradition while bringing something fresh each year. This year, the Medora Musical is now showing each night at 7:30 p.m.

"You know, it changes but just a little bit, you know, every year you come back you see that something new they might have, but it still doesn't lose the charm," says Musich.

Medora offers hotels and campgrounds for visitors.
