Trinity Earns an "A" in Safety

Posted: Updated:

Good news for patients in the Minot area, Trinity Health is among a select group of hospitals nationwide to earn an "A" when comes to keeping their hospitals safe.

Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit group, evaluated hospitals all across the country to find out how safe their overall operations are.

The hospitals are graded on their capacity to keep patients safe from infections, injuries and medical or medication errors.

And, while Trinity earned a perfect mark on the recent report, there's always ways to improve.

"We are making achievements on our patient safety goals, so we are very proud of that.  It's also an incentive for them to keep up the hard work and to be creative and always watch for ways to make it a safe environment," says Trinity Health Vice President Randy Schwan.

Trinity was one of only two hospitals in North Dakota to earn an "A'" safety score.
