Tech Talk: Camera College

Posted: Updated:

From Instagram to Snapchat, sharing photos is more popular than ever, which is why Bob's Photo is offering free classes to the public.

"They are completely free classes. So, you just show up at the store and we'll teach you stuff," says Camera College administrator Allison Dykshoorn.

"I'm going to do one iPhone class coming up this Saturday, and that will be pretty simple. It's kind of a broad thing about how to use the apps, how to order, how to edit and people's favorite apps for those types of things," says general manager Chris Dolajak.

And one of the applications they'll be teaching is their own. The application offers free storage and online albuming. And you can order prints directly from your phone. Something Dolajak says is often overlooked.

"None of us, I think, realize the value of the photograph in print as much as we should anymore. It's great to share them, but they really are just instantaneous and kind of gone and forgotten about."

And he says it's tough to find time to revisit the photos.

"I think from that comes a lot of the solution we see that really make sense, which are ways that make it really easy to print and produce great things from wall art to canvas wraps to collage posters to cards to prints from this images. So, you'll have something for your kids to hold and to look for for a long time."

Other classes include: lens selection, composition, and DSLR modes.

For more information and list of classes, visit bobsphoto.com or find them on Facebook.
