By now, a lot of us may know what auto-tune is. Artists like T-Pain and Kanye West are criticized a lot for using it. It's a program on a computer that can make your voice sound robotic. Well, a Florida teenage girl can make her voice sound like that without any special effects and it has gone viral. Her name is Emma Robinson and she is a junior in high school. This all started when her boyfriend posted this video of her on Reddit.com. She's covering a song using her naturally auto-tuned sounding voice. After that, her YouTube subscribers jumped from 600 to just under 16,000. She says, she doesn't try to sound like that she just does. It's a variation of yodeling or Celtic-type singing. Her video already as over 1,000,000 views.
You may not hear any auto-tune, but now in downtown Bismarck you can hear live bands almost every day of the week at Lucky Duck's. From Tuesday through Friday you can enjoy live bands on their outside patio. They also have open-mic night on Wednesdays so anyone who's looking for a little practice with their band or just wants to get up there and showcase their talent is welcome! The people at Lucky Duck's say, they decided to do this so the restaurant could become a fun place for people to hang out. "We just did it for the pure fact of loving live music." says part-owner, Russell Kadlec. For more information just visit their website.
