Sting Rays in the Magic City

Posted: Updated:

Salty ocean water and sea creatures, not necessarily two things that come to mind when you think about the Magic City.  But when it's State Fair week, anything is possible.

For the first time ever, the Sea Life Encounters group has made a trip to the Magic City for the 2013 State Fair.  Ten sting rays of three different species are on display near Gate D.  Fair goers can touch them, feed them, and learn something new about these sea creatures.  "The kids come in and you can't get them out, you have to drag them out.  At first a lot of kids are scared of them, very afraid because of what they've heard about sting rays, but once they touch them, and once they feed them, they just love them and can't leave.  That's once thing I like about this business, that everybody loves it, everybody loves it," said Joe Culiver, owner of Sea Life Encounters.

The Sting Ray Exhibit is open everyday of the fair from noon to 8:00 PM.
