Students Arrive Home Late

Posted: Updated:

Parents say kids had a tough time getting home yesterday. One parent says it took her child two hours to get home.

Bismarck facilities and transportation director Darin Sherr admits student drop-off took much longer than anticipated. But with 3,000 students at various schools, drivers did the best they could with the new system.

"In the general scope of things, I think a majority of our operation went fairly smooth. And like I said, today was better than yesterday. But just, you know, the long bus rides part of it is too, we need to set up better middle school and high schools , maybe a place where they can do their homework," says Sherr.

Sherr says the department is working to improve communication between drivers and schools.
