Marauders Football Appears on ME-TV

Posted: Updated:

It's a new season and we have a new channel. It's called ME-TV and I hope you have already watched some of those classic shows. ME-TV also allows us the opportunity to televise more local events and the University of Mary is taking advantage of it.

NBC North Dakota Sports will produce a pair of Marauders football games on ME-TV this fall: Homecoming on October-5th against Minot State, plus the final home game for head coach Myron Schulz on November-16th.

U-Mary Athletic Director Roger Thomas says television is one area where his University has a big edge on the rest of the conference.

"To have your Division II program to keep climbing up the ladder of exposure and respect, to have the games on TV and to have our own highlite show "Marauders Weekly" where they see our coaches face to face and they see our student-athletes everybody watches that intimacy that bit of the inside story and shows like that and interviews and games on TV," says Thomas.

U-Mary is the only Northern Sun Conference school to have a commercial TV station travel with the football and basketball teams for a weekly show. There are very few like it in NCAA Division-II athletics in the country.

"It just makes people feel like they know us much better and it just develops our fan base and we couldn't live without it. It's a great partnership," says Thomas.

It's a partnership that'll start with the first Marauders Weekly show of the new season on September 8th.

Marauders Weekly airs on Sunday's following the Night Report, but here's where ME-TV comes in. As an added bonus, Marauders Weekly will be shown Monday evening at 7-central.

ME-TV is 5.2 over the air and on basic cable but go to the ME-TV page on KFYR-TV.com to find your local channel number for ME-TV.
