BRENT: "Hello, I'm Brent Mattson along with my co-host Greg Gullickson from North Dakota Game & Fish, and welcome to this segment of Bremer Outdoors. Greg and I are enjoying a little ice fishing today in February. And we're also enjoying the fruits of our labor this fall. I was fortunate enough to get a deer with my bow last fall, made some great sausage. Lot of fun ice fishing and having a little nibble of some sausage, but I know every couple of years Greg we talk about this. The state legislature is going on right now. Any hot topics or clarifications whatever going on right now at the state legislature that would affect the North Dakota Game & Fish and the outdoorsman?"
GREG: "You know, a few minor ones, nothing really earth shattering in the legislature, you know, this session. You know upping the Game & Fish fees. For those of you who have had a deer license in North Dakota, you know it's been a couple of decades since we've raised the price of that deer tag. And we're just trying to get closer with neighboring states, and closer, uh, to where we want to be with those deer numbers, or, closer to where we want to be with those license numbers. And, you know, I guess one thing, uh, the Game & Fish really encourages sportsmen and sportswomen, uh, to research, to follow that legislation. And the best way to do that is to log on to the Game & Fish Department's website, uh, gf.nd.gov. We have a link to the legislative page, and you can actually read through the bills and track their progress. And the other thing is, your representatives, whether it's house or senate, uh, those are the people you elected, they need to hear from you or else they don't know how to vote on certain issues. And it's really easy to get hold of your legislators and representatives."
BRENT: "That's about it for this week's episode of Bremer Outdoors. And, uh, if you want to learn more about the Bremer Outdoor Team and how we're taking action with Minot area youth, just give us a call at the bank today. Remember, Bremer is taking action outdoors!"
