Bremer Outdoors: Outdoor Clubs

Posted: Updated:

BRENT: "Hello, I'm Brent Mattson of the Bremer Outdoors Team, and my co-host Greg Gullickson from North Dakota Game & Fish. And welcome to this week's segment of Bremer Outdoors. And we're actually here today with an outdoor group called Pheasants for the Future, their banquet was last Friday, and I know a lot of outdoor groups in the community have outdoor banquets for the good of the wildlife and other things Greg, and why don't you elaborate on that."

GREG: "Yea, these groups we have, especially in and around the Minot area, hats off. They're volunteers, they're pouring their time, their passion for the outdoors into these events. From Tioga to Towner, and Crosby to Cayuga, I mean, there's all these different wildlife clubs, and you know, we're blessed around the Minot area to have such a rich group of people, whether it's pheasants, ducks, deer, fish—all these different groups. And many of you ask, ‘alright, when you buy that plate of food, when you bid on those auction items, where does the money go?' You know these groups do a lot for youth, especially introducing them into the sport of hunting and fishing. Uh, they also do a lot of work with habitat. So if you happen to go to these banquets, if you see some of these guys, and maybe have their pheasant hat on or their Delta Waterfowl t-shirt, give them a pat on the back.  They certainly do a great job for wildlife and resources around, and definitely a great ally for the Game & Fish."

BRENT: "Say Greg, how may outdoor groups do you think there are in town right now in Minot?"

GREG: "Well right around the Minot area we do have right around a dozen or so. And the other thing we have in the Minot area is the cohesion between these groups. They support each other. They donate things to each other. They work together. The youth festival, I mean, and working with, directly with, the Game & Fish Department, certainly a great partnership that we have with these clubs."

BRENT: "Well, that's if for this week's segment of Bremer Outdoors. If you want to learn more about the Bremer Outdoor Team and how we're taking action with Minot area youth, just give us a call at the bank today. Remember, Bremer's taking action outdoors!"
