Cramer Speaks Out on Syria

Posted: Updated:

Representative Kevin Cramer says he's concerned about actions the US might take if President Obama gets support for a military strike in Syria.

Obama requested that Congress authorize the use of force in response to a chemical weapons attack in Syria last month.

But Cramer says he's reluctant to back the resolution as it reads now, because he says the language it includes is too broad.

"If we are going to take some sort of military action that involves bombing of strategic locations, things like that, that's one thing.  If we're going to leave ourselves open to committing soldiers on the ground, that's quite another," says Rep. Kevin Cramer.

Cramer says he's still open to supporting the resolution, but says Obama has been indecisive in his actions. And Cramer says that's one of the problems he has with it.
