The flu season is almost here, and for those of you who decide to get vaccinated, we have some good news. A new vaccine called a quadrivalent will be available to consumers when vaccinations become available.
"The quadrivalent will protect against four flu viruses instead of the three. So, it will protect against two A-flu virus and two B-flu viruses. So, this gives us more of a likelihood of being protected against all the flu viruses that will be circulating in the upcoming season," says Amy Schwartz, ND Department of Health.
Quantities are limited of the new vaccine, and doctors say, you should definitely ask for it; however, if it's not available, the older vaccine will work just fine.
