Famous Dave's Employee Loses Job When Facebook Post Goes Viral

Posted: Updated:

Two Famous Dave's employees lost their jobs after a Facebook post that some found offensive went viral.

"I went in the kitchen and I saw this sign. And a couple hours later, one of my friends that worked there as well came to visit, and she asked me to hold this poster up, so she could send a Snapchat," says Andrea Casson.

Later that night, Casson saw the picture on Facebook. She says it blew up quickly. And when she showed up to work the next day, she found out just how serious the situation was.

She was told the restaurant received dozens of complaints and some people had even canceled catering orders. And Native American founder "Famous" Dave Anderson posted about the incident.

Casson says she doesn't know who made the sign.

"I mean, people are just assuming it was me who made the sign. Not that it really matters because, I mean, she asked me to hold it up and I did. I could have said no. But I take full responsibility. It was something I choose to do."

Since the picture was posted, Casson has received several threats. The Bismarck Police Department even called to do a welfare check.
