MSU Searches for New President

Posted: Updated:

Back in June of 2012, Minot State University President Dr. David Fuller announced he would retire effective June of 2014. And, today, the university is one step closer to beginning the search for a new president.

An open forum was held today in the MSU Student Center for faculty, staff, and people in the community to voice their concerns, thoughts, and hopes for the future president.

The college is working closely with a consulting firm to gather information and put together an institutional profile describing the campus environment, so they make sure they get the right person for the job.

"They're all concerned about finding somebody that fits into Minot State and is excited to be here and that's what Dr. Kozloff is going to do.  She wants to have a candidate that really wants to be at Minot State and is willing to come here and excited to take the college to another level," says Minot State University Presidential Chair Dr. Terry Hjelmstad.

"People think that what's happened here over the last 10 years here has been incredible that they have a wonderful foundation for moving ahead and they want that momentum to continue.  And, they are very proud of the progress that has been made.  They don't want to lose that momentum," says presidential academic search consultant Dr. Jessica Kolzloff.

Minot State hopes to have the job posted in the next 30 to 60 days with interviews taking place in January and February and a final decision being reached by the first of March.
