Red Cross Sends Volunteers to Colorado

Posted: Updated:

The flooding in Colorado has spread to 15 counties and more than 1,200 people are unaccounted for. Fortunately, the weather has cleared, making it possible for an all-out search to begin.

Volunteers from the Red Cross have been assisting with efforts in the area and will continue long after the flooding subsides. Six people from our region have been sent to help, two from North Dakota, and more are on standby if and when they are needed.

"The Red Cross is already planning to be there to pass out cleaning kits and supplies long term for the recovery. I know we're still cleaning up and doing things in Minot, so we know that it takes years," says Jessica Gilbertson, Red Cross.
