Volunteers Promote National Literacy Month

Posted: Updated:

Whether you're at the grocery store or paying your bills, reading is a part of our daily lifestyle. But, it may not come easy for some. For those who struggle with reading, the Minot Literacy Volunteers are here to help. Just in time to celebrate National Literacy Month.

The volunteers offer one-on-one free tutoring sessions for those who want to enhance their reading comprehension.

"But it's an important life skill to get ahead in today's society. It's very important, even if it's not a book. It could be a digital book. It's still equally important," says volunteer Ginny Regala.

The volunteers will be handing out free books tonight from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Pizza Ranch in Minot.

Also, if you mention to your server that you're there in support of literacy month, Pizza Ranch will donate 20% of your bill to the Minot Literacy Volunteers.
