Norwegian Officials Visit North Dakota

Posted: Updated:

They might be located on different continents, but Norway and North Dakota have a lot in common. Norway is one of the world's leading oil producers, while North Dakota is the second-largest oil-producing U.S. state, behind Texas. Today, Norwegian officials wrapped up their week long visit, which focused on studying the state's booming oil industry.

"We've known each other for years through generations and now we enter a new game. Both are big players in the international energy field. That's why this visit is so timely, rewarding and so important. And we have things. It's not only a good conversation we have experiences and lessons to convey to each other," says Jostein Mykeltun, Consul General of Norway.

This trip was sponsored by North Dakota State University, the University of North Dakota, Bismarck State College, McKenzie County Economic Development. Last year North Dakota energy officials visited Norway to view their oil production and technology.
