FBI Concludes Investigation in New Town Murders

Posted: Updated:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation concluded its investigation into the shooting deaths of four people on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. Martha Johnson, Benjamin Schuster, Luke Schuster, and Julia Schuster were shot and killed in their New Town home on November 18, 2012.

The investigation determined Kalcie Eagle shot and killed the victims with a hunting rifle. Eagle made statements to witnesses admitting his involvement and confirming his possession of the hunting rifle that was used in the killings.

Eagle committed suicide in Parshall on the same day of the killings. Autopsy and toxicology examinations revealed the presence of methamphetamine in his system.
