Carnival Encourages Kids to Be Drug-Free

Posted: Updated:

For 16 years, the Red Ribbon Carnival in Bismarck has encouraged children to live drug-free.
This year's celebration is being held at the Bohn Armory in East Bismarck.

Families donated a non-perishable food item to get in and then played carnival games and won prizes. Organizers say it's a lot work, but it's definitely rewarding.

"The thing that keeps us coming back year after year is the energy in the room and the excitement from the kids seeing their reaction from the games and it is truly a carnival atmosphere," says 4-H youth development extention agent Cathy Palczewski.

The Red Ribbon carnival continues until 8.
