What's Trending 10/25/2013

Posted: Updated:

Trending locally, is the annual Monster Dash! The Fraternal Order of Police along with the Cops and Kids organization are teaming up yet again to put on the 5K and 10K Run/Walk. It's non-competitive, making it a fun event for you and your friends and family. You're invited to dress up in your Halloween costume. Especially since there's a costume contest at the end of the race. All proceeds from the event will go to the FOP and the Cops and Kids organization.

Bismarck Police Sergeant John Brocker says, there's no better feeling than helping out the community. "I think people forget that besides being police officers, we're members of the community. It's nice to be put in a positive light for once and to do something nice for the community and give back."

So far, about 70 runners are pre-registered. But it's not too late if you're interested to run! Just stop by Sertoma park by 7:30 am on Saturday to register. The 10K begins at 8:30 am and the 5K begins at 9:00 am.

Monster Dash runners aren't the only ones getting into the Halloween spirit. A paralympic skier is getting noticed for his creative outfits that show off his amazing sense of humor. Josh Sundquist has taken creativity to a whole new level with his Halloween costumes. This year, he's dressed as the lamp from A Christmas Story. In other years, he's dressed as a bitten Gingerbread man and a pirate. Josh may not have medaled in the Paralympic Games in Turin but you have to give him credit for his winning attitude. He's also a motivational speaker, author and expert at making the most of his situation.
